NTC thermistor is a semiconductor ceramic element, mostly made of transition metal oxide material, which is a negative temperature thermistor. When you debug on electrical equipment, you can suppress the inrush current by a power NTC thermistor connected in series on the power circuit. Due to the continuous action of the current, the temperature of the power NTC thermistor rises and the resistance drops rapidly to a small value, and the power consumed is negligible. So it can not affect the normal operating current. Therefore, the use of power NTC thermistor is the most effective and briefest measure to suppress inrush current, which can protect electrical equipment from damage.
